After months of developer previews and public betas Android 15 is finally formally published and completely developed stable. Still, it’s only available to developers—not the general public or even Pixel users for now.
While no devices including Pixel phones are currently receiving upgrades, Google has made the Android 15 source code accessible via the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Actually the September update available for Google Pixel smartphones still runs Android 14.
According to Google, Pixel devices—including the recently introduced Pixel 9 series “in the coming weeks”—will be able to access Android 15. Other companies including Samsung Respect iQoo Lenovo Motorola. Nothing OnePlus Oppo Realme is Cut sharp Sony Tecno Vivo and Xiaomi should anticipate a “in the coming months” upgrade.
Though Google hasn’t said specifically, rumors have hinted that Android 15 wouldn’t show on Pixel smartphones until October. Developers may therefore access the AOSP source and begin working with it in the meantime.
