Based on a now-removed article from eminent Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station, Oppo’s much awaited foldable smartphone is on order. Following the Find N3 published in October, the next gadget will be called the Find N5. Especially Oppo will be avoiding the number “4,” most likely because of tetraphobia, a superstition connected with the number in various Asian countries.
Qualcomm’s state-of-the-art Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 CPU is believed to be included in the Find N5. It will have a 50 MP primary camera with a Sony sensor and a periscope telephoto lens along with a “2K+” resolution interior foldable screen. A modern circular camera module will contain the camera arrangement.
With just over 9mm in thickness, the Find N5 is forming up to be among the slimmest foldable smartphones available, surpassing the current champion Honor’s Magic V3. For any foldable smartphone, it is remarkable if the Find N5 will outperform the Magic V3 in thinness being under 10mm.
Apart from its elegant look, the Find N5 is said to have improved water resistance based on IPX4 splash resistance certification over its predecessor. Including a three-stage alert slider would be another intriguing element.
Though it will probably be limited to the Chinese market, the Find N5 is scheduled to premiere between January and March. Globally, the gadget is supposed to be relaunched as the OnePlus Open 2 with the same specifications and features.
